Micro-Influencers generally have less than 100,000 followers, but they create content that is meant to capture attention and create a need by consumers. Well known celebrities and reality stars are often seen promoting products from a brand, however, the authenticity isn't there. Authenticity is essential on social media and many brands are picking up on the importance of it.
Brands will be looking for Micro-Influencers that have a very engaged following and that align with their brand. If you're just starting out and don't have a lot of followers, don't worry about this just yet.
Create great content that is true to your values and brand. Then, reach out to brands that you would like to work with. They don't have to be big brands, but brands that you believe in.
Brands want to see that you've worked successfully on other campaigns and will look at the rate of engagement (likes+comments divided by followers x 100). Likes and comments are most important, so make sure to target with the right content and hashtags to drive maximum results.
Try to respond to comments from your followers as often as possible to help the rate of engagement. People like to know they're being listened to from businesses. So, if there is a question from a follower or just a simple compliment, make sure to respond to increase their brand loyalty.
